Vihiga county commissioner Ochillo Oyugi is on the spot for allegedly meddling in Kazi Mtaani by employing his girlfriends at the expense of deserving youths. The youths who have raised concern said that after working for close to one week, their names were struck out of the list for reasons unknown to them. Documents that have surfaced from Nairobi indicate that Roselyne Ondieki, Lonar Aseyo, Nipher Mungereza, Brian Ambani, Imran Mungereza, Peter Amisi, Mark Musi, Dennis Munyon are names that have now been put on the list, and which were never there from the recruitment process. The names got into the list late last week, with Oyugi making the changes to accommodate them, with one of the ladies boasting to be close to Oyugi and that they are lover birds.“We don’t know why the county commissioner could not have brought the names during the recruitment process bearing in mind that he was the one in charge of the whole exercise in the region. Why wait till you have employed the youths and have worked for a whole week, then strike them off the list?” a source from Nairobi intimated to Weekly Citizen. Last week, MCAs from Vihiga complained that the county commissioner was meddling in the Kazi Mtaani initiative and it may not benefit the youths whom it was intended to help push through the harsh economic times occasioned by COvid-19 bug. Gisambai ward representative Erick Odei, told Oyugi to his face when they launched the Gisambai-Shamakhokho road together with cabinet secretaries Eugene Wamalwa, John Munyes and James Macharia, that he had segregated against some wards in Hamisi by striking off names of youth.
